2024 Ampeleia Unlitro Toscana IGT [Rating: 3.5/5 | $20]

Tasted on May 2, 2024. #DailyWine #dnardi #Garnacha #Tuscany #Ampeleia #UnLitro

This wine is a blend made predominantly with Alicante nero (a variation of Grenache or Garnacha), and other grapes including Mourvedre and Sangiovese.

Dry red wine, 12% alcohol. Medium dark, purplish color. Medium-high intensity nose, with strawberry, raspberry, flowers, and some faint horse blanket. The fruit aromas are very pure and fresh. In the palate, the wine is light but concentrated with flavors. It has a very crisp acidity that gives it a crunchy texture. The aromas in the palate reflect the nose. In the long finish, there is a hint of aftertaste of barnyard, but this adds to the complexity and is pleasant.

A wonderful tasty, light wine with a sangiovese profile. And the wine is a testament to the fact that light wine and diluted wine are not synonymous.
