2022 Poggio Scalette Chianti Classico [Rating: 3/5 | $20]

Tasted on March 8, 2026.

Dry red wine, 13.5% alcohol. Medium-high opacity, garnet rims. Medium intensity nose, with faint aromas of strawberry and raspberry, jujube. Medium body, medium-low concentration of flavors, lower acidity for a Chianti, soft, with notes of bay leaf in the palate. The finish is medium long.

This is one of the softest Chianti Classico I had in a long time. If you like the true style of the denomination, there are better options out there. If instead you like something uncomplicated and easy to drink without food, this is a good choice.
