Dry red wine, 14% alcohol. Completely opaque, purplish color. Medium-low intensity nose initially, then it opens up. It displays a mix of strawberry, raspberry, fresh blackberry. Very pure fruit. In the palate, it is very open and expansive. A horizontal wine. The lush fruit (plums and black cherry) dominates. Very long finish.
This is a good example of the fact that wine needs time to be evaluated- and loved. This wine took longer than usual to open up and come together. It needed more time to breathe. I also needed more time to understand the style. This is not a vertical wine with sharp acidity like a Chianti Classico (the wine I drink the most). This is lusher, richer yet still balanced.
