For our 15-year wedding anniversary, I popped this special wine. It is one of my favorite Barbaresco and I wanted to see how it would evolve with age.

Dry red wine, 14% alcohol. Popped and I let it breathe for one hour in the bottle. Medium opacity, with a burgundy color and brick hues on the rims. Very open nose, medium-high intensity. Notes of menthol dominate, with cherry, cherry cake, and floral accents. No signs of age in the nose. The only related note I can detect is leather. The palate is a bit more delicate and softer than a newer release. The tannins are thinner and the texture is not as dense. The wine has an impressive finish with mint and roses.

Fifteen years have turned this into a more balanced and softer wine, which exhibits an intense aromatic profile. What an elegant wine! Happy 15th Anniversary!
