Tasted on February 15, 2025. #DailyWine #dnardi #Winelovers #Wine #Sangiovese #Tuscany #ColleMassari #Montecucco #Value
A blend of 70% Sangiovese, 15% Ciliegiolo, 15% Montepulciano. This is the entry level Montecucco Rosso from this producer. (I already reviewed here the mid-tier, Riserva offering.)
Dry red wine, 14% alcohol. Medium opacity, ruby color. Medium intensity nose, with raspberry, floral, and also blackberry and coca-cola, and some Mediterranean herbs. Medium body, the aromas in the palate have a medium concentration. The texture is smooth, with only a bit of ripe tannins in the finish, which is very long.
A tasty, elegant, mid-weight Sangiovese-based blend that will appeal to many folks. An amazing value!
