When you think of Piedmont, you mostly think of big reds (Barolo and Barbaresco) and sweet sparkling (Moscato), but they also have native white grapes that make unique and delicious white wine. This is one such example from a grape called Arneis and a very good, value-oriented producer.
Dry white wine, 12.5% alcohol. Medium opacity, golden color. Medium-high intensity nose displaying apple, marzipan, as well as hints of mineral and grass. Light body, with a mouth coating texture. The wine has concentrated flavors and the acidity is there but it is smooth. It feels softer than other wines that I use as reference (like a Verdicchio). Ends with a long finish showing almonds. It reminds me of a Soave, in that it is light yet very aromatic.
This is a light, aromatic, and attractive white wine that will make you want to drink by the bottle.
