I think there is a conspiracy against this wine. Although it is consistently a very expressive, traditional (non oaked), and tasty Chianti Classico, it is difficult – if not impossible – to find reviews of it. It’s as if the wine media are ignoring it. I don’t know if this is because the producer dislikes being evaluated by critics (and does not send samples to the tastings) or because the critics have such a low reputation of this wine that they don’t even try it (although, given the quality and reputation, this seems unlikely). In either case, it is very difficult to find reviews online. So here is mine. And as a preview – it’s a great red wine!
Dry red wine, 14.5% alcohol. Medium-dark opacity, with burgundy color. High intensity nose, displaying lots of fruit: strawberry, cherry, raspberry, and hints of leather. Full body, good concentration of flavors, with a note of strawberry jam and flowers that continues long in the finish. The wine is smooth, round, well balanced, and it is on the richer side of Chianti Classico aromatically and in the palate. Lots of flavors.
It is very difficult to find reviews of this wine, yet it is a very aromatic, round and rich Chianti Classico that delivers plenty of pleasure at a very affordable price.
