Cantele is a really good wine producer in the Puglia region of Italy (the heel of the boot). The wines are made from native grape varieties, for reds mostly being Negroamaro (which means bitter dark) and Primitivo (equivalent to Zinfandel). These wines do not command high prices, so it is possible to find amazing values, especially in the hands of capable producers such as Cantele. Negroamaro grape makes juicy, full body red wines, but it can also be used to make rose’. And really delicious ones too.

Dry rose’ wine, 13% alcohol. Very pale, pink color (almost looks like a white wine). Medium-high intensity nose, with grapefruit, parsley, and grass. Medium body, good concentration of flavors, and pleasant acidity. Finishes long with almond accents.

This is a smooth, aromatic, delicious, mid-weight rosé, filled with grapefruit notes. It displays a remarkable concentration of flavors in the palate and the finish.
