2021 Cantine Garrone Munaloss [Rating: 3.5/5 | $16]

Tasted on April 7, 2024. #DailyWine #dnardi #Wine #Piedmont #Nebbiolo #CantineGarrone #Garrone

This wine is a blend of 50% Nebbiolo, 30% Croatina, 20% Barbera. It is a “vino rosso”; not a DOC or DOCG. This means that it is not a famous wine denomination. And that is probably why, despite the quality, this wine is relatively inexpensive.

Dry red wine, 12.5% alcohol. Medium opacity, with burgundy color. Medium-high intensity nose, with ripe fruit salad, blackberry, tomato leaf. Medium body, medium acidity (less than Sangiovese), concentrated fruit. Very primary. Very simple, but the fruit is captivating. Long finish w dark fruit (blackberries).
