A fruity, juicy, crisp Chianti Classico.
I read a lot about this producer. This is their Chianti Classico “annata”, i.e., not riserva. Chianti Classico in general don’t typically get a lot of oaky flavors (at least traditionally), but this one sees no oak whatsoever. It is aged in unlined concrete vats.
Dry red wine, 14% alcohol. High opacity, deep garnet color. Medium-high intensity nose, dominated by a mix of red and dark fruit, flowers, and sage. The wine feels very primary, with medium body and a high acidity that counteracts the sweetness of the fruit-forward palate. The acidity almost gives a fizzy sensation. Long persistence with hints of cinnamon.
