Can a wine bring a strong concentration of flavors, while keeping the alcohol at a reasonable level?
This wine is from a reference producer in Tuscany, but not from the “usual” areas, like Montalcino or Chianti Classico. Made with 100% Sangiovese grapes.
Ruby pomegranate color, almost completely opaque. Medium intensity nose, with lots of raspberry and a hint of cheese/leather. Full body. In the palate it has good concentration, a hint of new oak with pipe tobacco. Reminiscent of a good Brunello or Chianti Gran Selezione, but with lower alcohol and great concentration. Long finish with jujubes. Juicy and very attractive.
