How does an alpine Nebbiolo taste like?

This wine is from the region of Italy called Valle d’Aosta, at the feet of the alps, which borders with France (that is why many signs are written in Italian and French). The grape variety here is Nebbiolo, just like in Barolo and Barbaresco. However, because of the cooler climate (altitude and latitude), you get a different profile…

Ruby color, medium opacity. Medium intensity nose, with ripe red fruits, spices, flowers, star anise. (The aromas are reminiscent of a chianti classico). Very appealing mouthfeel, with medium body, nice grip of acidity and some ripe tannins in the finish. The wine is smooth and balanced. Medium concentration. Same aromas in the palate, dominated by ripe red fruit and floral accents, withe also hints of chocolate. Long finish. Great value!
