This wine is from Chianti Rufina appellation, which is a much smaller area than Chianti Classico, higher in altitude, cooler, and makes wines that are more aromatic. This is from the Nipozzano estate, owned by Frescobaldi, the largest producer in Rufina.
Dark purple color, almost completely opaque. Medium intensity nose, with strong flower notes, as well as ripe blackberries and some green pepper and spices. Medium body, soft acidity, very juicy, with masses of fruit and flowers. A bit simple but very tasty. Long finish.
