2022 Zenato Bardolino Chiaretto [Rating: 3.5/5 | $ 14]

Bardolino Chiaretto is another very good rose’ wine appellation in Italy. This is from the Veneto region. It is made from the same grape varieties that make many Valpolicella (red) wines, including the super rich – and expensive – Amarone della Valpolicella, i.e., a blend of Corvina, Rondinella, and others. This is from a reference producer in Veneto, and it makes top notch wines across the board.

This wine is very pale, light pink color. Medium intensity nose. Very pretty aromas of lemon, raspberry, mineral, and floral accents. Bright acidity, light body, nice energy. Unlike some other rose’ wines, there is no hint of sweetness (bone dry). A great value!

Tasted again on Jan 26, 2024. Consistent notes, but a bit lighter body than I remembered. I am going from 4 to 3.5.
