This is another wine from this amazing wine producer, Tiberio, that I had the extreme pleasure of visiting this past summer. This is their varietal Pecorino. Pecorino is an in-fashion white wine variety, both in Italy and in the world, and the reason is the combination of texture (relatively rich) and aromas (intense), all at an attractive price (the wines do not command yet high market prices). From what I know, the best Pecorino come from Abruzzo, and some from Marche region. One of the producers who first recognized the potential of this grape was Cataldi Madonna, and Tiberio is one of the best examples of this wine.
This wine was medium intensity, lemon-golden color. Intense aromas in the nose, and very peculiar: eucalyptus, mint, chamomile, marzipan, apple, and apricot. Full body, nice balance between acidity and flavors. Compared to their Trebbiano d’Abruzzo wine, this one is a bit less acidic, and the aromatics are completely different. Very fascinating wine to try!
