This is the second Ciro’ rosato that I review. They are made from the Gaglioppo (red berry) variety in the Calabria region of Italy (the heel of the boot). Pale salmon color. Very intense aromas of grapefruit and grass. Low acidity, has a thickness to it, probably from a touch of sweetness. A bit flat, but the nose is mesmerizing. Very reminiscent of a New Zealand Sauvignon blanc, but with less acidity and lighter in body.
