This is one of my favorite Chianti Classico producers. I am very familiar with their straight Chianti Classico, their Riserva, and their special riserva, Rancia.
This wine was ruby, medium intensity on the darker side. Plum, tobacco, strawberry jam in the nose and palate. Also sage and spice box. Medium body, with very intense aromatics. Nice grip with tannins. Long finish with dried plums. Fresh acidity and dusty tannins. A bit more ripeness and oak than I prefer, but very alluring.
