2021 Librandi Ciro’ Rosato [Rating: 4/5 | $14]

This wine is from Southern Italy, the region Calabria. It is from a grape variety called Gaglioppo, which makes good red wines, but can also make very interesting rose’. The appellation “Ciro’” encompasses whites, reds and rose’. The Librandi winery is a strong producer that makes very appealing Ciro’ wines – and the best thing is that they are inexpensive! This specific wine retails for $14, but you can probably find it even for less.

It has a peculiar amber/orange color. The aromas are intense, with fresh apple, pear, raspberry, orange peel, and hints of marzipan. It is a light body wine with medium acidity and a nice effervescent sensation in the palate (this is given by the acidity). A solid finish too. This wine is very easy to drink and a great bargain!
