2020 Vietti Perbacco Langhe Nebbiolo [Rating: 3/5 | $27]

Vietti is a reference producer in the Piedmont Langhe region of Italy. Every wine they make is good, and they produce the whole range from inexpensive Barbera and Dolcetto that cost around $15 all the way to top-notch single-vinyard Barolos that retail more than $200 per bottle. So if you find this producer on the shelves when purchasing wine, you know it will deliver.

This specific wine is their entry-level Nebbiolo and it is a reference among the $20-ish Nebbiolos (I already reviewed one here). Compared to others, I find this to be more fruit-forward, with an almost bubble-gum nose: you get fruit salad, fresh plum, flowers, and a bit of tree bark. The color is dark red, almost burgundy color, medium opaque. This has nice energy and concentration and it is very smooth; just a bit of tannins at the end. A lot of people will love this.
